Johannesburg International Airport (JNB) offers travellers a wide range of ground transportation options to suit every passengers' needs.

Serving Johannesburg and the surrounding area, travel facilities at Joburg Airport include bus, hotel shuttle, car rental and taxi cab services.

Buses

Johannesburg Airport is served by a number of private bus companies, travelling from the terminal buildings into the city centre and other nearby towns around Gauteng. The bus journey takes around 40 minutes, depending on the location of the hotel and traffic.

Hotel Shuttle

Many of the major city hotels also offer a door-to-door courtesy shuttle bus service for their guests, traveling from Joburg Airport, directly to the hotel from outside of the passenger buildings. Taxi Cabs

Taxis are readily available at the taxi rank is situated directly outside of the arrivals area. The trip into central Johannesburg will take around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Official JNB taxi cabs should be used at all times to ensure safety and also to avoid the possibilty of being overcharged.

The taxi meters begin at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, late-night driving and travel on South African national holidays, so it can prove useful to ask the taxi driver about these before leaving.
